Unfree MAL Wrap-up
Thank you so much to everybody who joined the Unfree MAL! Here are the final stats:
48 knit pattern sales
20 crochet pattern sales
$427 donated to the National Women's Law Center
Both Liv and I decided to add back in the money lost to transaction fees with our own donation, so we donated even more than the proceeds! I'm so happy with how successful this MAL was, and I hope you all enjoyed the patterns.
The Unfree Shawl knitting pattern will continue to be a charity pattern, with 100% of the proceeds donated to the NWLC in perpetuity. The Bluesky feed will also remain open for at least a few more months, so you can see everybody's beautiful makes!
I'm planning on hosting another MAL this year, likely in September to be 6 months out from the start of Unfree. That will also come with posts on case studies looking at oppression and intersectionality related to the inspiration for the pattern. In the meantime, I'll continue to post more general writeups about activism and intersectionality, but likely at a slower cadence; probably twice a month instead of every week. If there's any topic you'd like me to look into, please let me know! You can either drop a comment below or email me at info@unravelingprivilege.com. Until then, keep learning, keep fighting, and keep stitching!
